These are the Terms of Service for the Tickerly application (the "App"), distributed on Google Play (smartphone and tablet), Google Play Cars (Android Automotive OS), and the Appning by FORVIA AOSP head-unit store. By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the App.
Tickerly is a free, no-account finance and markets news aggregator that reads headlines aloud. It displays headlines, thumbnails, and short publisher-supplied excerpts drawn from publicly available finance, markets, and business section RSS feeds (never general-news roots), across multiple selectable language pools that you choose at first run and can change in Settings. The App uses the Android Text-to-Speech engine, on-device, to read the headline and the publisher's short blurb only — never the full article body, with auto-advance, skip, and speed controls. Each item links back to the original publisher for attribution. There is no advertising, no subscription, and no in-app purchase.
Soundica grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and to Google Play's Terms of Service (or, for the Appning store, the FORVIA distribution terms). Soundica retains all intellectual-property rights in the App itself (the code, UI, assets, and brand).
Tickerly aggregates third-party news headlines for general informational purposes only. Nothing in the App constitutes financial, investment, legal, tax, or trading advice, or a recommendation, endorsement, or solicitation to buy, sell, or hold any security, asset, currency, commodity, or financial instrument. The App does not provide real-time market quotes, exchange-licensed market data, price feeds, trade execution, brokerage, order routing, or portfolio, watchlist, or account-management services. Headlines and excerpts originate from third-party publishers and may be inaccurate, delayed, incomplete, or out of date. You must do your own research and consult a licensed financial professional before making any financial decision. Soundica accepts no liability for any decision made, or action taken or not taken, in reliance on content surfaced by the App. You use any information from the App entirely at your own risk.
You agree not to:
All headlines, thumbnails, summaries, and linked articles are the property of their respective publishers. The App displays them under the fair-use / fair-dealing / news-reporting exceptions recognised in the United States, the EU, the United Kingdom, Korea (Article 28 of the Copyright Act), Japan, Singapore, India, and Australia, following the established aggregator model (as used by Google News, Flipboard, Apple News, and similar). The App does not reproduce full articles; the Text-to-Speech engine reads only the headline and the publisher's own short blurb, never the article body. The source name is shown as visual attribution and each item links back to the original publisher.
Headlines, thumbnails, and summaries are read from publicly available finance, markets, and business section RSS feeds — never general-news roots — that publishers have placed openly on the public internet. In the European Union, the very-short extracts surfaced by the App (a headline and a brief publisher-supplied blurb) fall within the carve-out in Article 15(1) of Directive (EU) 2019/790, under which the press-publisher right does not apply to the use of individual words or very short extracts of a press publication. The App does not host, rehost, copy, transcode, or proxy publisher content; it surfaces a passive index of feeds.
If you are a rights holder and believe the App is displaying your content outside what fair use permits, contact admin@soundica.app and we will remove the source from our aggregation within 7 days.
Tickerly is a news aggregator, not a market-data product. The App does not consume, license, or redistribute real-time exchange-data feeds, consolidated tape, or any exchange-licensed quote, index, or pricing service. Any numbers, prices, or figures that appear inside a third-party headline or blurb are the publisher's editorial content, not a live quote, and may be delayed or inaccurate. Do not rely on the App as a source of market prices.
Tickerly acts as an information-location-tool service provider for the purpose of notice-and-takedown. If you are a rights holder and believe a source appearing in the aggregation infringes your rights, contact Soundica's designated copyright agent at admin@soundica.app with subject line "Copyright/DMCA — Tickerly". We will acknowledge promptly and, on verifying a valid claim, remove the source from the aggregation within 7 days.
For a notice under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512(d) (Information location tools), please include the elements required by § 512(c)(3): identification of the copyrighted work, identification of the material to be removed (the specific source and its feed URL), your contact details, the good-faith statement, the accuracy certification, and the physical or electronic signature of the rights holder or authorised agent. Note that because Tickerly does not host the underlying article, removal from the aggregation does not remove the publisher's own copy; the rights holder may also wish to notify the publisher or their hosting service.
Soundica maintains and enforces a repeat-infringer policy under § 512(i): sources that draw repeated valid infringement complaints are excluded from the aggregation. For the EU, Soundica acts as a hosting/conduit-style service for the purpose of the Digital Services Act (DSA) Art. 16 notice-and-action mechanism; notices may be sent to the same address and will receive a substantiated decision and information on appeal.
Tickerly is a read-and-listen aggregator only. It has no comments, posts, profiles, messaging, sharing, or other social or user-generated-content features, and it does not surface user-generated social media feeds as news. There is nothing for you to publish, and Soundica does not moderate or host user content because none exists.
Tickerly displays headlines, publisher names, and thumbnails as supplied in each source's public RSS feed, for the limited purpose of identifying the story and its publisher. This is nominative use and does not imply endorsement, partnership, or any other commercial relationship. If you hold publicity or personality rights and believe a specific use is inappropriate, contact the address in Section 15.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, timeliness, or non-infringement. Soundica makes no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any headline, excerpt, figure, or other content surfaced by the App, and the App is not a source of financial, investment, or trading advice (see Section 3). Soundica does not warrant that the App, its backend, or any specific source will be uninterrupted, error-free, or continuously available — news content is produced by third parties and may change, move, or become unavailable. In jurisdictions where certain statutory rights cannot be excluded (notably under EU and UK consumer-protection law and Singapore's Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act), those rights are unaffected.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Soundica's total liability arising out of or relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for the App (which is zero). Soundica is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, trading or investment losses, or other intangible losses, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Without limiting the foregoing, Soundica is not liable for any financial, investment, or trading decision you make, or for any loss you suffer, in reliance on any headline, excerpt, or other content surfaced by the App.
You agree to indemnify and hold Soundica harmless from any claim, demand, or damages arising out of your breach of these Terms or your violation of any law or third-party right.
When used on an Android Automotive head unit, an Android Auto projection, or an Appning by FORVIA AOSP head unit, the App follows the distraction-free interaction model required by Google's Cars policy and the FORVIA portal: large touch targets, single-tap controls, glanceable layout, voice-first playback, and parked-only settings panels. You remain solely responsible for driving safely and complying with all road rules in your jurisdiction; do not interact with the head unit when doing so would be unsafe or illegal.
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Soundica may suspend or discontinue the App or any feature at any time, with or without notice. The licence in Section 2 terminates automatically on uninstall or discontinuation.
Soundica may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes are reflected in an updated "Effective" date at the top. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
